


On the Saturday night of the Festival there is a ticketed event lasting approximately two hours that includes a glass of red or white wine or fruit juice, a selection of canapés and seasonal music.
Only 150 tickets are sold owing to restriction of space in the church. The price is announced in November, along with details of where tickets can be purchased. Watch this space…
The church doors open at 7pm and performances begin at 7:30pm after the first of the canapé courses is served. Entertainment is provided by a small vocal group that performs seasonal music from the gallery or the chancel steps; and soloists contribute musical recitals and Christmas narrations.
During the two intervals more substantial canapés are served. Last year the canapés included bruschetta and gravadlax, mini pizzas, olives, tiny quiches, fillet steak in Yorkshire puddings with horseradish and crème fraiche, vegetable skewers and mini roast potatoes followed later by fruit kebabs, chocolate muffins, meringues, mince pies and lots more. The canapés are mostly home made.
From the lych gate the illuminated church looks warm and welcoming and the sparkly
icicle lights that line the path entice guests inside. The contrast between cold
winter weather and the cheerful multi-
